How we make money

Two ways, and both are visible on the page.

Display ads

Some pages carry ad units served by Google. They sit in fixed positions below the verdict, never above it. Pages with no editorial content — this one, the privacy policy, the contact page — carry none.

Affiliate links

Some tools run affiliate programs. Where one does and we have joined it, the link to that tool earns us a commission if you sign up, and it is marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code. Where a tool has no program, the link is a plain link. Many of the biggest tools — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney — have no program at all, so recommending them earns us nothing beyond the ad impression.

Affiliate status cannot affect a ranking.

That is a design fact rather than a promise: the data that produces a verdict contains no field for affiliate status, so there is no way for it to influence which tool wins. A tool that earns us nothing beats one that pays us whenever it is the better tool, and it does, often.

Nobody pays to appear.

No sponsored placements, no paid reviews, no previews for vendors.
